Blender Extensions Platform is ready for public testing

Blender Foundation unveiled Blender Extensions, an asset store designed to provide users with free and open-source add-ons and themes.

The Blender community is abuzz with anticipation as the Blender Foundation gears up for the upcoming Blender 4.1 release, set to bring a host of new features and improvements to the popular 3D creation software. In a recent announcement, the foundation unveiled Blender Extensions, a brand-new asset store designed to provide users with free and open-source add-ons and themes that are fully compatible with Blender 4.2, currently in its Alpha stage.

As part of the initial public testing phase, Blender Extensions is now open for users to explore, interact with, and provide valuable feedback to help iron out any bugs and issues before the official launch. Users are encouraged to not only test the platform but also to upload their own themes and add-ons, leave reviews, report any issues they encounter, and ensure a smooth experience for all users.

It’s worth noting that while there are currently six add-ons and three themes available on the platform for testing purposes, these may be removed at any time as the platform continues to evolve. This flexibility allows for a dynamic testing environment that can adapt to user feedback and changing requirements.
